Have you ever bitten into a Cayenne pepper? Of course not. Why? Because you'd set your mouth on fire! It's been a long hard history lesson, but culinary experts have come to realize that shards from the nutritious stick of dynamite give just the right flare to all kinds of meals.

What they might not have known back then is that each fiery cayenne flake has tons of health perks. Health-crazed cooks around the globe have caught on quick and now routinely sprinkle on cayenne to add a pinch of flare and vitality.

It's to the point where Cayenne Pepper EVOO is being served with pizza so that those craving a touch of spice can dribble on some liquid kick! We think it's an awesome idea, and wanted to brag about some of the health perks in every drop of Cayenne-Infused EVOO.

    Hot pepper health perks

Here are a ton of health perks cited by Dr. Axe, the Global Healing Center, Readers Digest and more that we've thrown together.

Burn Calories: Send the heat in your mouth straight to your gut! Those especially brave can crank up the body's temperature by eating half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. It also helps suppress your appetite and burns calories.

Sear off aches and pains: The component that gives cayenne it's kick, capsaicin, can be used to deplete the nerve cells that are sending joint pain signals to the brain. Just apply EVOO and cayenne pepper (we've already got it in one bottle) with gauze onto the areas of joint or muscle pain. The first few applications will cause a slight burning sensation but the applications afterward help numb the pain.

Smoke out stuffed sinuses: Each fiery pepper flake opens up the body's airways and stimulates the release of mucus from the respiratory tract. Basically, if you're going to eat alot of cayenne make sure you have some tissues handy.

Fight headaches with spice: Consuming cayenne helps redirect pain away from headaches by directing attention towards cayenne's kick. As the kick starts to wear off, the nerve fibers responding to the headache have less substance P (the nerve's pain chemical) causing you to feel the headache's pain less.

Sweat out toxins: Eating cayenne is known to boost your circulatory system. It also ramps up the pulse of your lymphatic and digestive rhythms. This causes the body to heat up - improving the body's ability to sweat and do other things that let your body detox.

Scorch fungal properties: Cayenne pepper has a reputation for killing fungus and preventing other fungal pathogens from forming. A study on its in vitro antifungal activity revealed the powerful pepper's active against candida and 15 other fungal strains.

While having the right amount of candida helps the body absorb and digest nutrients, too much of it can cause hormonal imbalance, joint paint, a weak immune system and digestive issues.

Soothe toothaches: Cayenne does a great job fighting against tooth and gum disease.

Snuff out blood clots: Cayenne pepper helps lower atherosclerosis, encourages fibrinolytic activity and prevents factors that lead to blood clots - collectively reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Treat Psoriasis: Psoriasis happens when skin cells replicate too quickly, causing inflamed patches under the skin covered with whitish scales on top to appear. One study showed that applying a cream with 0.025% capsaicin (cayenne pepper) to those areas can reduce scaling and redness on those with moderate or severe psoriasis.

Crank up digestion: Eating cayenne cranks up your stomach's ability to digest food through amping up enzyme and gastric juice production. The hot pepper also helps relieve intestinal gas by making intestinal parasites move around to integrate and lower the amount of gas present.

Clear out lung cancer: Some studies have shown that the hot chili pepper's high capsaicin concentrations may prevent cancerous tumours from forming in the lungs of smokers. It might also prevent liver tumours.

Flare up your vitamin count: Cayenne's got a bunch of great vitamins packed in every flake, including vitamin A, B6, C, E, K, Manganese and Potassium.
